online research specialists, emedia, indicate that the Bank of England's decision to raise interest rates in January appears to have had a significant impact on the management level professionals domestic finances.
Management-level professionals in the UK concerned about paying the mortgage over the coming months rose from 3% before the announcement to 4% afterwards. If such concerns were replicated across all salary levels, this could add nearly 100,000 households to 390,000 that already worry.
The same survey shows that 4 in every 10 are uncertain that their pension arrangements will provide a comfortable retirement.
According to recent calculations by the Association of British Insurers and accountancy firm Deloitte, 45% of people working in Britain are definitely not putting enough in their pension funds to ensure a comfortable retirement, and some 29% are not putting any money at all into a pension.
