Abbey mortgage makes homebuying process simpler
Wednesday 16 May 2007
In order to make the homebuying process simpler, Abbey has introduced a mortgage without upfront fees.
The new mortgage covers all upfront costs, including legal fees, with Abbey suggesting that the package could be worth £2,000 to the average UK homeowner.
Abbey's research shows the average British homeowner spends longer choosing their annual holiday than they do viewing their current home.
On average they spend just 96 minutes viewing a property before making an offer, with almost 50% of movers admitting they have had setbacks when buying.
More than 20% of respondents identify problems with the decor and exterior of their homes, while others say they have problems with their neighbours.
