On mentioning the AA, most people tend to think of being rescued from motoring mishaps, albeit by a nice person decked in yellow rather than a knight in shining armour.
However, the organisation also provides unsecured personal loans, with exclusive online rates for web-savvy customers.
There are two personal loan options at the AA. The first has a typical APR of 5.9 per cent. The second has a typical APR of 6.9 per cent, but no fees will be applied for early repayments.
Any amount between £1,000 and £25,000 can be borrowed from the AA and fixed payments can be made over a one to seven year period.
The cheque can also be delivered by courier service within 24 hours for a fee of £50, providing the application is accepted before 3pm.
Research and Markets, a major surveying resource company, labelled AA Financial Services as one of the "outstanding performers" in the personal loans market in 2004.
